The Lutherans Dodge a Bullet
By rejecting the ordination of gay bishops, and refusing to sanction ceremonies for gay couples, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) has managed to escape the turmoil that is threatening to split the Episcopal Church in the United States. I suspect the battle is far from over, though, as the end of the article makes clear:
