The Next Obama Summit: NASA on April 15th

I know it's going to surprise people, but I really don't like the Obama Administration. Shocker, right?

But I very much agree with the Obama Administration's budget and plans for NASA and manned space flight in the future. The plan is based on proposals from The Planetary Society. It pushes us farther and faster , and adds millions to private corporations, a far cry from what NASA was doing under the Bush Administration.

There is a rumor going around that Obama will give the Kennedy speech on April 15th, putting us on Mars within the decade. I sincerely hope that's what happens. And, if he follows the The Planetary Society guidelines, we will go with the intention of staying. That, in and of itself, would make Barack Obama a pivotal figure in world history.

The technological benefits of going to Mars would benefit us all. It would give this nation a goal to rally around,  something to unite us instead of dividing. And it would open up the New Frontier in a very real way. Saddle up.
