a slow news day when something like this makes the national news.

Airport security uses talk as tactic

The Transportation Security Administration plans to train screeners at 40 major airports next year to pick out possible terrorists by engaging travelers in a casual conversation to detect whether a person appears nervous or evasive and needs extra scrutiny.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I thought this was a given in security situations? Even the most basic of Security training tells you that you should look out for those people who act strange. Behavior is the number one key to determining someone's intent in any given situation.

Why is this surprising?
